3 months vaccination

On the way to animal hospital to get 3 months(since he was born) vaccination.
Seems a little bit worried about something.
But when the doctor injected on his back, near scruff, he said nothing.
Very calm and quiet cat he is.

Suspend mode

He goes into suspend mode anytime I pick him up with his scruff.
Don't know whether he likes it or not.
Maybe nowty, maybe just stopped.

Cattish? Of course he is.

We see his very cattish behavior these days, like this.

Sleeping almost of the day

I realized it while I'm staying at home on holiday.

Favorite bed

On top of his cage, he likes to stay these days because he could see us through glassed-in wall.

After a while, he fell asleep there like this photo.

Porto, your eye is half-opened!
(but seems he fell in a deep sleep)

Favorite place

Seems he found his comfortable and favorite place in his room.

We've stopped to let him get into his cage while night and we're not at home since yesterday.

He climbed up to the chair and sit there this morning and took a nap there.

He's growing day by day.
Wish we had this kitten time more.

Breakfast or Play ?

I served his breakfast in this morning.
It's a ordinary weekday, so I need to get up earlier to have extra event before leave home.

He didn't have so much against my expectation and soon started to play with me.

It's a really comfortable and healing time for me.
Waking up earlier is well rewarded ;)



It is really hard to take photo of kitten with iPhone.
He always play around.
Need to have a sense of force to see what he will do next.

Welcome !

Porto has come to our home.

The checkup result of skin disease was negative.  He doesn't have any disease.

Now we welcomed a new family member to our home !

We let him into cage first to get used to his new home.

He seems very scared for this new place which is out of his territory.

Sniffed around and walk around step by step very carefully and shakily.  

Soon, he get used to his new territory and asked us to get him out of cage.

Then we let him go out of cage.

He ran around ran around and ran around.

The room is small for us but enough for him to run around.

I think this is the first time for him to run.

He never stop playing and running so that we let him get into cage because kittens plays too much, until he/she exausted.

This is something difficult situation both Porto and us because playing with him is so delightful.  :)

We will enjoy this "kitten time" for a while with him.

Rain check ?

It would be the first day for Porto to come to our home but it was postponed.

According to the pet store person who has been taking care of Porto for a week , he seems to have some skin disease which causes him to partially lose hair.
He had already asked the doctor to check Porto and will have the result maybe in 3 days so that he recommended us to stay keep Porto there for another one week to see the result.

We felt a little bit sorry but we trust the person and ask him another one week stay .

We played with Porto for about 20 mins.
First, he sniffed our hands and (seems or we hope) he remembered that this is us !
And started to play around.
This time he is much more energetic than last week.

We're really looking forward to welcoming him to our home next week !

Encounter !!!

We just went to see some cats to there today but we encountered him.

I know this is strange for non Japanese people but in Japan, pets like cats and dogs are in pet store and we can see them through clear cage.

A man of the pet store coming to us and asked "Wanna hold a kitten ?".
He took out one kitten from the cage and let us hold.
That kitten was really cute but he, the pet store person, also said
"We have a Russian Blue just reached here in this morning. Bring him here."

The kitten was him. The pet store guy placed paper sheet on the table and put him on it.
He is Russian Blue, 2 months old. At first he seems scared for everything but soon he get used to us and start to play around.

He was soooo cute !

That guy asked us "This is encounter, why don't you get him in your family ?"

I and my wife discussed and considered for a while.

But finally we decided.
This is really an encounter.

The guy said "He need to have some anti-virus injections so that we'll take care of him one more week"
We told him that we'll come back in next Sunday.

Bye bye kitten, you'll be part of my family on next Sunday.
We also bought a lot of stuff to bring up kitten such as cage, toilet, claw board and so on.
(Pet industry eat our money a lot...)

After we got home, we discussed his name.
We prefer some western style name rather than Japanese traditional because he is  Russian Blue.

We chose "Porto" as his name because we love portugal, easy to call and a little bit european flavor.

We miss you porto.
